I was enjoying Ms. Daye's book until........something happens towards the end of this book that had me befuddled. There is a scene earlier in the story, where Kerri is punished for defending herself after being assaulted. Now previously the H had assured her she'd be safe and no Dom would touch her while she wore his collar, so what the heck? And at the end we find that the assaulter was one of the good guys. It made the assault and following punishment nonsensical. If the author needed a reason for that particular scene, it should at least make sense at the end of the story. That type of unexplained action really throws me out of a story and ruins it for me. I find myself going back and rereading and trying to see if I missed something. And then rereading the ending for the same reason. And then I start to pick it all apart. By the way why didn't she accompany her BFF, closer than sisters since the age of 10 to the hospital??? See what I mean?

I have to admit I started this story and spent the rest of the day reading. I'm a romantic suspense type of reader. Throw in good sex and an awesome plot, well, I'm invested.

Ms. Daye's story moves at a really nice pace, successfully mixing sex, and tension with intrigue. Her sex scenes are blistering hot, but they fit the plot and move the story along. I liked her characters, and wanted them to have a happy ending.

The suspense is tight and keeps you guessing right to the end.
Kerri's personality is the perfect combination of innocence and daring. I love how she pushes past her fear of the unknown to experience something completely outside the norm. Hunter too is just demanding and dominant enough to keep things interesting, but you know it is done with great feeling and passion for Kerri. The criminal element is also well played, and gives this story an edgy darkness that contrasts perfectly with its sexual pleasures.
